Yoshihiko Fujii's Perla Egg Cup is a beautifully crafted piece of wooden lacquerware, turned from solid wood and finished using traditional Japanese lacquering techniques. Each cup is adorned with a luminous pearl‑tone finish—available in pink, blue, white, black, and gold—created by applying a special pearl‑pigmented lacquer behind a protective glass coating, resulting in a depth and shimmer impossible with standard glass coloring methods. Its smooth, minimalist form highlights the natural warmth of wood while offering modern practicality: the final glass coating makes the surface easy to clean and maintain. This product has a protective coating and can be safely washed in the dishwasher.
If the special dishwasher-safe resin coating is scratched by friction, contact between dishes, or damage to the corners, etc., and if detergent or other substances penetrate the lower layer, the coated resin may peel off or cause discoloration or deformation. If the above happens to occur, please refrain from using the dishwasher and wash by hand.
